MEK Due Diligence Services (MEK DDS) is owned and operated by MEK Inc. under the direction of Mitch Kowalski. Mr. Kowalski received his B.A., M.A. and LL.B. from the University of Western Ontario and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1991. He was called to the British Columbia Bar in 1998. He received an LL.M. in Real Estate Law from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2001. Before creating MEK DDS, Mr. Kowalski practiced exclusively in real estate law with two, well-respected Toronto law firms and with the City of Toronto; he also served in a business role with First Canadian Title and was a member of the Executive of the Real Estate Section of the Ontario Bar Association. He is a former instructor for the real estate course at the Ontario Bar Admissions course and is the author of a number of real estate law-related publications. From 2002 – 2004 he was the author and editor of the LexisNexis Butterworths publication, Canadian Forms and Precedents: Commercial Real Estate Financing. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors for Ontario Realty Corporation. What We Do MEK DDS is the only company of its kind in Canada. Located in downtown Toronto, we provide confidential, outsourced real estate due diligence support (such as the preparation of lease, mortgage or other document summaries) to consultants, law firms and in-house lawyers. All due diligence services are performed by non-practicing, Ontario lawyers, who are members in good standing with the Law Society of Upper Canada. As added protection for our clients, MEK DDS maintains errors and omissions insurance through Trisura Guarantee Insurance Company.
